OVERVIEW: In dispute between Louisiana and Mississippi as to the boundary line between them, U.S. Supreme Court found that Louisiana was entitled to equitable relief sought because acts admitting the states could not be construed in pari materia and because Louisiana had exercised, with Mississippi's acquiescence, jurisdiction over the territory since 1812.
