OVERVIEW: A jury could not give another value to a contract than that stipulated by the parties, and, therefore, in an action on a contract for the sale of timber that was payable in Confederate currency, evidence had to be received of the value of Confederate currency at the time and place the contract was made, making it error to exclude such evidence.
