This Governmental Printing Office site provides access to the core documents of our democratic society. In addition to the standard documents such as the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights, users will also find links to legislative, executive and judicial resources such as selected congressional debates, the Federalist Papers, Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations, Supreme Court decisions, United States Code, Federal Budget, statistical abstracts, demographics, economic reports and indicators and government manuals. Most compilations are searchable and many require Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view. This is a good starting point for those wishing to begin their research with a wide scope or to provide basic historical information.

This page is an excellent virtual substitute for visiting the Rotunda of the National Archives. Users can view high-resolution pictures of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Magna Carta. A brief history on each document is provided, as well as a link to the Founding Fathers Page which features bibliographies of each of the 55 delegates.

This site provides users with a search engine for early congressional documents (Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Federalist Papers, Bill of Rights, etc.) as well as links to the Thomas Jefferson Papers and documents of the Continental Congress.
