10.

Is lexisONE® secure when I enter my credit card information?
Yes. LexisNexis® Group believes in the highest levels of security for both our customers and our own business. Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) is the standard encryption protocol we use to provide a secure connection. With SSL in place, information is encrypted before it is transmitted between your computer and LexisNexis® , blocking any attempt to observe this information by another party. You are notified as you enter a secured Internet page and as you depart the secured Internet page. You can look for these indicators prior to and following the transmission of your LexisNexis® ID, client matter code, and search information. You should know, however, that SSL encryption may result in slightly slower system performance.

What is the difference between lexisONE® and the lexis.com® research system?
The lexisONE® service provides access to free case law dating back to January 1998; the lexis.com® research system provides access to thousands of databases and sources, with all coverage dates available for each source. The lexis.com® research system also provides access to additional features, such as:

  • Lexis® Search Advisor - a finding tool for legal materials based on areas of law and related legal topics.

  • Shepards® Citations Service - provides the tools you need to determine the usefulness and validity of legal documents for your research, as well as to find additional supportive documents.

  • Case Law Summaries, Cite List Overviews, and Core Concepts - Case Law Summaries provide the Procedural Posture, the Overview and the Outcome of case law documents to quickly give you the essence of a case. Cite List Overviews show you which cases are most relevant to your research. Core Concepts identify the major points of law found in an opinion, expressed in the actual language of the court.

  • And much more!
