How do I launch the Research
Task Pane (RTP)?
You can launch the RTP either by
selecting the "Search Button" from the tool bar within any
of the Office programs, or by highlighting content within
an Office document then right-clicking and selecting "Lookup."

How do I search for free case law within my Office program?
First, highlight a keyword or phrase
within your MS document. Click on the "Research" button in the
toolbar, then right-click on the highlighted content and select
"Look Up." The RTP will open. Then, using the drop-down menu
of services, select "lexisONE® FCL."

How do I search the LexisNexis Bookstore from
my Office program?

How do I Shepardize® a case from my Office program? Click on "Shepardize®". A browser window will open. The RTP will be carried over to the browser and displayed in the left side of the browser window.

Does the RTP work with different browsers?
Full RTP functionality and features
are available with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. You may use
the RTP in the MS Office products with other browsers, including
Netscape, but there are limitations. When you select any of
the results in the RTP, Netscape will launch but the RTP will
not open in the browser window. Only the content of the link
selected in the RTP will display.

Do I need to reenter my user ID and Password each time I login to do a search?
No. The RTP includes a "Remember Me" feature, which allows you to indicate whether you would like your user ID and password information to be saved. Making this selection enables you to avoid reentering your login information every time you conduct a search.
