Overview: An employer was entitled to summary judgment in an employee's retaliatory discharge action under Ala. Code ¿ 25-5-11.1 because a release waving any and all claims related to the incident giving rise to the employee's workers' compensation action barred the employee's retaliatory discharge claim. No latent ambiguity existed as to the release.

Overview: In a bank's action to recover upon a promissory note, a trial court was within its discretion in denying guarantors' motion for a change of venue because under Ala. Code ¿ 6-3-7(a)(1), venue was proper in the county in which the original action was filed Therefore, the joinder of the guarantors in the action was proper under Ala. R. Civ. P. 82(c).
