Overview: Judgment was reversed as deed was void since Ala. Code §§ 23-4-2 and 23-4-20 were not followed, right-of-way was not abandoned as public road, and failure to do so was not in nature of mere failure to perform all required elements for formalities of contract execution. County lacked authority to transfer right-of-way to owners' predecessors.

Overview: In a workers' compensation case, a deceased employee's dependent failed to present clear and convincing evidence that the employee's job activities increased the risk that he would have a ruptured aneurysm almost a week later, Ala. Code § 25-5-81(c). The employer's medical experts found the employee's job duties did not contribute to the rupture.
