Overview: Because the trial court lacked authority to alter a coterminous sentence originally imposed, and thereby increase the amount of time that defendant would serve, it erred in granting the State's motion to correct said sentence. Moreover, the resulting increased sentence violated defendant's double jeopardy rights.
