Overview: Because a claimant failed to show that he contracted hepatitis C during his employment as a firefighter, or that the disease was caused by peculiar characteristics of that job, he was properly denied benefits. But, as the JCC lacked jurisdiction to vacate a 1996 settlement agreement between the parties, such was ordered reinstated on remand.
