Overview: Under O.C.G.A. § 51-4-2(a), the decedent's son had right to bring a wrongful death action for his father's death and the estate administrator lacked standing to bring the claim. There was nothing to obviate consequences of son's failure to timely pursue the wrongful death action, and summary judgment dismissing the counterclaim was proper.

Overview: Jury was entitled to find that a forged check was presented for cashing at defendant's behest, and that "uttering" element of first degree forgery was proven. Trial court properly charged jury on corroboration requirement, and there was evidence from which the jury could have concluded that friend involved in the transaction was not an accomplice.

Overview: Evidence was sufficient to support robbery convictions where the victim testified that defendant threatened him with a knife and then threw the knife on his bed, an officer found a knife lying on the bed, and defendant admitted to holding a knife while arguing with victim. It was inconsequential that defendant never touched victim with the knife.
