Overview: In a domestic abuse case, a court did not err by admitting defendant's statement to police that he did not want to go back to jail, Haw. R. Evid. 404(b), because it explained the source of his anger at the victim, why he assaulted her, and why defendant barricaded himself and the victim in the bedroom and refused to come out.
