Overview: Summary judgment was properly granted in an action alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress because evidence that a mean look was given during a tense conversation did not constitute outrageous conduct. Since no tort was committed in this instance, the party giving the mean look was also not liable for a subsequent battery by another.
