Overview: When plaintiffs agreed to assist a building owner to obtain a loan from a third party for a fee, they were loan brokers under 815 Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann. 175/15-5.15 and had to register under 815 Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann. 175/15-10. The fact that they performed other services did not detract from the agreement's main purpose, obtaining a loan for a fee.
