Overview: Attorney was suspended for a year and a day for violating La. St. Bar art. XVI, R. 1.3, 1.4, 3.2, and 8.1(c); he violated duties owed to his clients and as a professional, acted negligently and knowingly, causing significant harm to both clients, which could have been avoided, had prior disciplinary offenses, and did not cooperate in investigation.

Overview: Where defendant sought to replace appointed counsel on first day of trial, or in alternative, to represent himself, the record showed the only warning the court did not specifically give defendant concerned maximum sentence exposure he faced. But discussion of rejected plea agreement showed he was aware of exposure. His waiver of counsel was valid.
