Overview: Trial court erred in dismissing foster parents' joint petitions for adoption of their foster children, as the court had jurisdiction over the foster parents, the children, and the adoption proceeding, and Me. Rev. Stat. Ann. tit. 18-A, § 9-301 (2006) did not prohibit a joint adoption petition by two unmarried persons.
