Overview: In a murder case, evidence of defendant's prior assault conviction was properly admitted, Minn. R. Evid. 404(b), because both incidents involved intrusions into homes of vulnerable victims whom defendant had known for some time, both occurred in the early morning, and the weapon used and injuries inflicted in both incidents were markedly similar.
