Mealey's Verdict Summary: Patents
The report consists of verdicts and corresponding complaints from patent infringement cases that went to trial between July 2004 and July 2005. The verdicts run the gamut from findings of non-infringement to findings of infringement with enhanced damages, to findings regarding validity and/or enforceability. The underlying disputes range from generic drug litigation to biotechnical issues to medical devices to computer-related technology. In total, more than $990 million was awarded by jurors in the 36 verdicts reported. The summary also features an article covering statistics and trends in patent litigation.
